The Light at Night

The Light at Night

I caught an earlier flight home last night...the flight previous to mine, and mine were delayed...I must say, this is the first time a delay has worked in my favor...I was due!

This is a picture peering down from the 6th floor of the Sacramento Parking Garage. The lighting was beautiful, and in the many times I have frequented this Garage, I had missed this view...just goes to show you...there IS beauty everywhere...

Chicago Airport

Chicago Airport
I am in Ohio for the first time in my life. Odd thing is that my Mother was born here...and I know nothing about it. So far I have made it to the Starbuck's which impressively sports a beautiful view of the runway, including marvelous clouds, free internet, jazzy music, comfy chairs yummy yogurt, tasty chai and friendly people. Perhaps I will spend the week here and call it work...would anyone notice?!
One thing I noticed today as I arrived at the airport at 5 am, is that I have missed "seeing" the obvious "Airport Culture". So many people, rushing, jockeying and hugging their mobile devices, like they are "life" and may bring them the serenity we all crave...the number of Premier and 1K Passengers on United is frightening. Though I am excited about my new work opportunity, and truly believe it "matters", I had to ask myself what am I running from with this insanity of travel...I have some ideas...and as I am teaching myself to do...will reserve conclusion for a while...a giant step for me.
This picture was taken today in the Chicago Airport...as some of its inhabitants madly charge their devices between flights...very interesting...

Sacramento Airport Parking Garage

Sacramento 4th Floor-Airport Parking

At my crack of dawn this morning I left for a week in Hartford...flying through Dulles. I left the house at the time I had planned...which in itself is a miracle (no laughing in the peanut gallery, please). I wondered about the lack of traffic, both to the airport and the road to the parking lot. Usually early Monday morning is a very crowded time, and today was a little scary with the lack of beings at the airport. This is a picture of the 4th floor in the Terminal A parking lot. I was concerned that parking would not be available in this lot, and have had that experience in the past. It is very scary to me that on an early flight out, I easily found parking, and breezed past Security...with 2 people in front of me in line. Times are changing...and I am frightened if I think about it for too long....
